Legendary Chicago underground music club Neo has announced that it’s pulling up stakes and moving all operations to Debonair Social Club in Wicker Park beginning in August 2015.

Following initial reports by Red Eye and this flyer referencing the dispute circulating, a (quite long but wonderfully colorful) Facebook post attributed to Jessica Krinke, Neo’s Director of Media, compares the “legal quagmire” to a parental dispute in which “mommy realizes daddy’s a lazy, abusive leech who never helps around the house and has been running behind her back with someone else and the only thing left to do is pack up my shit and go stay with my sister until I figure out what I want to do with my life.”

According to Krinke, all events will be moving to Debonair Social Club at Damen and North Avenue beginning in August. “Whether this means an agreement can be reached with our Clark Street location that, after years in tenant purgatory puts us in the position to finally make the long-needed repairs and upgrades we had been planning, or whether this marks the time for Neo to make our home somewhere new, one thing will not change: Neo will be a part of Chicago’s nightlife,” Krinke adds. “We will be a home for this city’s family of amazing people and personalities who deserve a safe space to be themselves and we will stick together.”

Ok kittens, gather around. Mom has something she needs to talk to you guys about. Sometimes, mommies and daddies fight….
