Apartment Records’ Kenny Hanlon is the DJ for this week’s featured mix for 5 Mag’s RISE series.
Kenny Hanlon is a long term “get” for me personally as I’ve been a crazy fanboy of both the music on his label and the way he runs it. Hanlon runs Apartment Records which released one of my favorite records of 2022, Being’s There, available on digital and cassette via Bandcamp. Come to think of it, Apartment also released one of my favorite records of 2021, NCW on NCW. Their next release (and thus potentially my favorite record next year) will be from New Jackson, coming out in early 2023.
In addition to running Apartment Hanlon is one of the organizers of the Open Ear festival in Sherkin Island, Cork, Ireland.
