A near perfect deep house track. Risperson’s remix of “Lovers” is gorgeous, glorious underground deep house, punchy on the low-end but with a sunny sheen that catches your breath in your throat.
From Brisbane, Australia, Risperson gives a makeover to Lehto’s “Lovers,” a track released a year ago on his label Bathurst. How all of these forces came together is beyond my knowledge or concern, but if you go back and listen to the original the scope of Risperson’s reconstruction becomes clear and it’s stunning. The original mix had a sort of deeper, soulful, fragmented feel; Risperson’s is pure melodic bliss. An essential in the bag.
