Two months after being honored by the City of Chicago with Metro / Smartbar Day, our friends at the two Chicago nightlife institutions are driving the carnival up to the northern suburbs.

This Saturday, September 17, Metro and Smartbar are celebrating their 40th anniversary in the tony environs of Ravinia, the open air music venue in Highland Park, Illinois. The grounds of Ravinia are frequently used for live jazz and classical music, but will host a special edition of Queen!, Smartbar’s usual Sunday night residency. (Maybe the most special edition there’s ever been…)

Joining Queen! residents Derrick Carter, Michael Serafini and Garrett David will be special guests Ralphi Rosario and Dajae (performing live), along with hosts that make it happen, Lucy Stoole, Nico and Jojo Baby.

Doors are at 3pm and the show starts at 4pm, which is probably the earliest you’ll ever see the Queen! crowd out on a Saturday. Tickets are $30 and you can ride the regional Metra train for free to Ravinia station with the purchase of one. Get one here or for more info at smartbarchicago.com or in 5 Mag’s calendar.

(Also, a fellow named Bonobo is playing at Smartbar later that night…)
