From the creative talents of Rhythm Of Paradise, Nico Lahs and St. David comes 34th Floor Experience, and that’s about how high they’ll get you. The producers have teamed up for “Love Will Find A Way,” a gorgeous new four track EP from Spanish vinyl-only label Mate. I don’t know the backstory behind this one but the proof is in the final slab of wax, which is exquisite.
The elegant original mix is built around a decently well-known lyric that we’ll keep to ourselves (though the name of one of the remixes gives it away), backed with twinkling, sparse chords and a beat that thunders into the night. Two remixes here: St. David adds a gallop of jangly percussion and a breakdown that is nearly hypnotic. Nico Lahs buries the vocal between a metric ton of dub — this mix is a total sleeper track right here, perfect for transitions or change of pace in your set.
“I’m Not Dreaming” is the b-side track and something about this brings me back to the early days of SoundCloud, when you could just scroll people’s reposts for days and find some hidden savant making bangin’ tracks by taking two words of an Al Jarreau stanza, smashing it together with two words from an Al Green song and looping it until everyone had to be scraped off the floor. Good times.
