Dufflebag Records has announced the release of RiteOnRed, the new album by Change Request (aka Andrew Emil) on July 19 2019. The ten track LP is an emotionally profound journey – a word that’s terribly cliché in dance music and DJ culture but more appropriate here than any other album I can recall.

Andrew Emil processes some fairly heavy material here – isolation, loss, introspection – and leads off with the achingly beautiful, masterfully arranged, synth-laden “Desolate Diligence.”

The album also stands together, like foundation stones, from the atmospheric opening that brings to mind the big sonic machines of Tangerine Dream but with a fuller and more earth-bound groove, to the mentholated acid jazz embodied in slinky tracks like “The Vanity of Virtue.”

The whole of RiteOnRed is available for pre-order from Beatport and is out July 19 2019. There is also a release party in Chicago on July 18 at Smartbar.
