Continuing to showcase the deep flow of talent emerging from the underground, 5 Mag features Chicago’s M-Dok (Tribe, My House Music Festival) for this week’s Monday morning RISE mix.

M-Dok, born Marcus Elston, is a DJ and producer hailing from Chicago, Illinois. M-Dok’s journey in music began in the summer of 2008 when he and his peers started hosting underground warehouse parties and weekly house parties in Pilsen. M-Dok’s festival event, My House, is known for contextualizing the city’s heritage for a young and enthusiastic crowd by putting new acts alongside established legends.

With over 15 years of experience in the craft of DJing and curating music, M-Dok has DJed amongst legends and superstar DJs in various genres such as house, hip-hop, and Latino. He has helped direct and coordinate shows for well-known Chicago festivals such as My House Music Fest, Chicago Michelada, Pilsen Taco Fest, and the team that brought Don Omar and Ivy Queen to Chicago.
