Following up on their name change and one of the best records of their career on Aus Music, Lars Dales and Maarten Smeets are spinning off two new labels.
Dam Swindle (formerly Detroit Swindle) already run Heist Recordings, and will be adding to the portfolio with the launch of 10Questions and Transient Nature.
Transient Nature is described as a “platform dedicated to the world of machine funk” according to a release, a “sonic aesthetic of off-kilter techno and electro.” Artists lined up for future releases include Detroit legends Scan 7, up and coming technicians Black Cadmium and Maarten’s solo project, Wanderist.
Dales’ 10Questions (founded with graphic designer Bas Koopmans) is “focused on Italo and proto-inspired house music with a pinch of electro.” The title track from 10Questions first release, Demi Riquísimo’s Dictionary of Fools EP can be listened to here:
Dictionary of Fools is out on March 26, 2021. Transient Nature will debut with a record from Dukwa on April 22, 2021.
